Liverpool Sign
We were chosen to produce and install built up permanent 3D freestanding letters at Thomas Steers Way near Albert Dock.
The purpose of the signage was described as a spot to “grab the perfect selfie”.
The artwork spells out the city’s name over 14.5m (48ft.)
Designed by Liverpool-based Liz Harry, the sign will be transformed with designs from local artists throughout the year.
Donna Howitt from Liverpool ONE said the artwork, which faces the Hilton Hotel near the Strand, “is a chance to mark how local people have supported the city” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“And, of course, it gives us another spot to grab the perfect selfie in the city centre,”she added.
One of the goals from the client was to create a spot to take the perfect ‘selfie’.
The signs were made out of steel internal framework and covered in aluminium. They were powder-coated to the clients chosen colour and now display to help bring in the crowds.
With the project being delivered on budget and on time, we succesfully achieved the clients goal.
